Inspiration in Education nominee – Selina Rudzik

Selina Rudzik has devoted her career to nurturing the workforce of the future, making an impact on both learners and employers across Staffordshire and beyond.

Through her role as Managing Director of Recruitment Robin and as a Placement Officer at Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group, Selina has supported more than 60 learners of all ages and backgrounds – providing them with real-life business experience, vital employability skills and the confidence to pursue their career aspirations.

Selina currently mentors four T-Level students: second-year Business Management T-Level student and double-award nominee Millie Quick plus first-year Legal Services students Mia Howard, Isabelle Smithson and Tate Evans. She ensures each student’s placement is tailored to their ambitions – whether that’s learning HR processes, developing marketing campaigns or gaining insight into business operations.

Looking ahead, she will be welcoming one Marketing T-Level student and two HNC/D Computing students in the next academic year, giving them live projects such as managing Recruitment Robin’s social media, building operational databases and developing client portals.

Her dedication to supporting the next generation extends beyond T-Levels. Selina has hosted four Year 10 pupils from local schools for one to two-week work experience placements, three BTEC Business Studies students from NSCG and one adult learner through the Job Centre, offering training in HR, recruitment, social media and administration.

She also mentored a recruitment apprentice for a year, employed two young staff members and created flexible learning opportunities that empower every individual to explore their potential.

In her role as Placement Officer for NSCG, Selina has worked with more than 25 local employers to secure digital T-Level placements, leading to apprenticeships or employment for at least six students so far.

She has delivered employer engagement events, coordinated speed networking sessions, created training content for classroom sessions and led experience days to inspire the next generation of digital talent.

Her outreach has even influenced local business recruitment strategies. Some employers now design their hiring processes around welcoming and training T-Level students.

Selina also champions the T-Level programme across the local business community, taking students to networking events to boost their confidence and encourage them to become ambassadors for the scheme.

Many of her learners continue to receive her mentorship well beyond their official placement hours, benefiting from her CV writing workshops, interview preparation and career planning advice.

Her commitment extends into business mentorship, having supported around eight start-up and established businesses through initiatives such as Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce and the Manchester-based iMentor programme. She shares her expertise in recruitment, networking, entrepreneurship and confidence building to help others thrive.

Selina Rudzik has been nominated in the Inspiration in Education category of the Your Heroes Awards.
