Civic Pride nomination – Port Vale Foundation
Port Vale Foundation is harnessing the power of Port Vale Football Club to change thousands of lives.
Over the past 12 months the charity has reached almost 6,000 people from Stoke-on-Trent with direct contact through one of its many community-based programmes.
Independently researched feedback has shown that 91% of people from the Foundation’s programmes reported increased physical wellbeing, 88% said it had been positive for their mental wellbeing and 89% said it had given them something to belong to.
Will Turner, Community and CSR Director at Port Vale FC, said: “From the streets to the stands, everything we do – on and off the pitch – is driven by one thing: impact. It’s why we show up. It’s why we fight for this community, for a place like no other, Stoke-on-Trent and its people – putting pride back into the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds.
“The Foundation and the community it serves aren’t just add-ons to the football club, they’re the beating heart of everything we do. The soul. The reason we matter.
“At Port Vale Foundation, every session, every handshake, every story shared across a cup of tea, it’s part of something real. The badge has the power to unlock doors other organisations can’t. It reaches people the system forgets. It brings hope to places that need it most.
“We have cemented partnerships with the local authority to provide support for new families via our family hub, impact on educational institutes to support young people learning, support for adults through our community cupboard and lounge and created a connection to diverse communities through our community events. This is more than football. This is Port Vale.”
Port Vale Foundation has been nominated in the Civic Pride category of the Your Heroes Awards.
