Inspiration in Education nomination – Kaleidoscope School
A special school has been called a safe haven where children never fail to reach their potential.
Parent Crystal Mullard has nominated Kaleidoscope School, in Porthill, in the Inspiration in Education category of the Your Heroes Awards.
She said: “I am nominating Kaleidoscope School as I feel they should be recognised for their hard work and commitment for all their pupils and families.
“The staff at Kaleidoscope are exceptional. They will always go above and beyond for our children and never fail to reach their needs and potential on a daily basis.
“The school offers all parents the opportunity to attend workshops with our children throughout each term. They also run a coffee morning which gives all parents an opportunity to reach out and seek support, guidance or just an overlook of the children’s work.
“All children have varied additional needs or disabilities. This school is a safe haven for them to flourish into education.”
Headteacher Sam Goodin said: “We are honoured to be nominated as a whole school and we are so grateful to the entire staff team for the effort and dedication they show to our learners every day.
“School was officially opened in 2022 and educates 30 of the most special little people you’ve ever seen in your life! They teach us new things about the world every day and the staff go above and beyond with their hard work and dedication to ensure they go into the world understood, loved and cared for.
“The staff team work tirelessly to ensure every child gets exactly what they need in a child-centred way and that support extends to their families too. Staff know that sometimes SEN families have to battle for everything and we want to be there, at our families’ sides, every step of the way to get them what they need and deserve.
“Staff have helped fight for safe space beds, service support such as physio, agency support and care support amongst other things; the children’s safety and happiness is in our hands and we take that very seriously.
“As a team, we are so lucky and honoured to have the staff we have; who are here to make a difference to the lives of the children in our care. They will all be so humble and downplay this nomination as that’s the kind of people they are. Special, hardworking, dedicated, caring people for whom nothing is too much trouble.”
